On 28-29 March 2023, SAFEST presented In Brussels (Belgium) the Perioperative Patient Safety Recommendations Consensus Conference.

To consider and align the points of view of patients, clinicians, and healthcare professionals, the project has formed a multi-disciplinary group of experts from all around Europe called the Scientific Advisory Group (SAG). Loredana Gigli, member of the Professional Practice Working Group and the Cancer Working Group of Europe region World Physiotherapy, formed part of this group representing the physiotherapists' perspective on behalf of the region.

During the Consensus Conference, representative members of the different groups comprising the SAG gathered to debate on the results of a Delphi online consensus process, revisit selected SAFEST Perioperative Patient Safety Recommendations in different dedicated sessions, and reach a final consensus on the scope of the recommendations, the barriers and facilitators to their implementation, and other relevant topics.
