Poland is currently holding the presidency of the Council of the European Union from January 1 to June 30, 2025, under the theme "Security, Europe!".
In order to align the priorities during the presidency with those of the 2025 presidencies (Denmark and Cyprus), the three countries have formed a trio to find common solutions to the challenges and tasks ahead.
During this period, Poland has identified health security as a key priority, focusing on several critical areas:
Digital Transformation of Healthcare:Â Poland aims to advance the digitalisation of healthcare systems across the EU, including the implementation of the European Health Data Space. This initiative is intended to enhance cross-border health services and facilitate research into new medicines and therapies.
Health Promotion and Disease Prevention:Â The presidency emphasises preventive measures and health promotion activities to improve public health outcomes. This includes developing strategies to address chronic diseases and promoting healthy lifestyles among EU citizens.
Mental Health Support for Children and Adolescents:Â Recognising the growing importance of mental health, Poland is focusing on initiatives to support the mental well-being of young people in the digital age. This involves developing policies and programs aimed at preventing mental health issues among children and adolescents.
