European Commission | Have your say - next EU long-term budget

The European Commission has started public consultations to shape the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework.

The Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) sets out the EU spending priorities for several years. The current MFF runs until 2027 and the European Commission has started an open process where all Europeans can have their say on the priorities and policies, including in the field of health, that the next budget of the EU should focus on.

Public consultations:

A citizens' panel will be held at a later stage. 150 citizens from the 27 EU Member States will be randomly selected to help formulate concrete recommendations for a new European budget that fits the European ambitions.

After this process, the formal proposal will be presented in July 2025 and the next Multiannual Financial Framework will take effect in January 2028.

The Europe Region of World Physiotherapy recently published a document on EU funding opportunities for Member Organisations where further information on how the EU budget works can be found.
