The Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) sets out the EU spending priorities for several years. The current MFF runs until 2027 and the European Commission has started an open process where all Europeans can have their say on the priorities and policies, including in the field of health, that the next budget of the EU should focus on.Â

EU funding for civil protection, preparedness and response to crises
EU funding for the single market, and cooperation between national authorities
A citizens' panel will be held at a later stage. 150 citizens from the 27 EU Member States will be randomly selected to help formulate concrete recommendations for a new European budget that fits the European ambitions.

After this process, the formal proposal will be presented in July 2025 and the next Multiannual Financial Framework will take effect in January 2028.
