On the occasion of the Mental Health Awareness Week and the European Public Health Week, the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy held a webinar on the skills physiotherapists have to treat persons with mental health problems.Â
The ever-changing world brings us not only challenges but also opportunities to work better, to live better. Scientific research lets us better understand the interconnectedness of the human body and mind, lifting the stigma of mental health problems and calling for deeper involvement of all health care professionals into the management of mental health challenges.
Physiotherapy is not an exclusion in this situation. On the contrary, physiotherapists are in the perfect place: all the skills, knowledge and tools are already there. This webinar included short presentations focusing on competencies and tools every physiotherapist should already have and the impact that putting these resources in action can have.
The event, which took place on Monday 12 May 2025, grabbed the attention of more than 260 physiotherapists all over the world.
Now you can relive the webinar on the Europe Region’s YouTube channel!
