Last weekend, the Executive Committee of the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy held its first in-person meeting of the 2026–2028 term in the organisation’s office in Brussels. 

While the committee had held several online meetings following the elections at the 15th General Meeting of the Europe Region, the gathering marked the first face-to-face meeting for newly elected Executive Committee members Adérito Seixas (Portugal) and Fran Theron (Ireland).

The main agenda items discussed were: 

• The situation on the EU Commission’s project on an EU Common Training Framework for physiotherapists;

• The selection of members to the Europe Region Working Groups for the 2026–2028 term.

EC members for the 2026-2028 term: 

• Chair (2026 - 2030): Tim Németh, AXXON Physical Therapy in Belgium. 

• 1st Vice-Chair (2024 - 2028): Carmen Suárez Serrano, Spanish Association of Physiotherapists (AEF)

• 2nd Vice-Chair (2026 - 2028): Michele Cannone, Italian Association of Physiotherapy (A.I.F.I.)

• Executive Committee member (2026 - 2030): Adérito Seixas, Order of Physiotherapists of Portugal

• Executive Committee member (2026 - 2028): Fran Theron, Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP).
