Day 1 kicked off with an opening speech by Esther-Mary D’Arcy, Chair of the Europe Region, and Michel Landry, President of World Physiotherapy. The main items in the agenda during the morning session were the approval of the Strategic Plan 2026-2030, and the approval and noting of the documents produced during the 2024-2026 term by the 5 Working Groups of the Europe Region. During the afternoon session, the representatives of the Member Organisations were divided into small groups in 3 breakout rooms to discuss the following topics:
A Common Training Framework for Physiotherapy in Europe
Public affairs for physiotherapy associations
Risks and opportunities for Physiotherapy
On the same day, members of the Education & Research Working Group and the Bulgarian Association of Physiotherapists delegation held a tribute to their colleague Lyubomira Sazdova, who passed away during this term.
Day 2Â continued with a second discussion session where Member Organisations were again divided into small groups in 3 breakout rooms to discuss the future of the Europe Region.
Following the discussion session, the elections for the open Executive Committee positions took place. The following individuals were elected:Â
Chair (2026-2030): Tim Németh, AXXON Physical Therapy in Belgium.Â
Executive Committee member (2026–2030): Adérito Seixas, Order of Physiotherapists of Portugal.
Executive Committee member (2026–2028): Fran Theron, Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP).

The general meeting concluded with a tribute from the Member Organisations to Esther-Mary D'Arcy, who stepped down as chair of the Europe Region of World Physiotherapy after eight years in the role.
